Chemical analysis of drinking water

We perform chemical tests of drinking water (from municipal water supply, dug and shaft wells, and artesian wells). During water testing, we determine: the amount of dissolved inorganic substances, the pH of the water, the amount of nitrites and nitrates, and the amounts of iron, manganese, and total hardness in the water.

Water testing cost: €40; Water sample collection cost: €10

We do not perform microbiological water testing!

Water testing analysis

Performed when ordering a detailed water test. When selecting water filters, a shortened water test is performed, during which the following is tested: the amount of dissolved inorganic substances, water pH, nitrite and nitrate content, iron, manganese, ammonium, and total hardness in water.

Basic requirements for drinking water quality and safety according to Lithuanian hygiene standard HN 24:2017

For those who would like to read more about Lithuanian hygiene standard HN 24:2017, please refer to the following link. For additional information about water quality and the impact of each chemical substance on human health, household appliances, and methods for their removal, we recommend reading here.

Well water

We recommend testing well water at least once every six (6) months. Well water is surface water, which means that its quality can vary. The quality of well water is influenced by environmental factors, the location of the well, and human activity near the well. To ensure that you are drinking high-quality water, we recommend regularly testing the levels of nitrates and nitrites in your well water. Also, if the well water has not been tested microbiologically or if the tests were performed a long time ago, we recommend performing microbiological water tests.
In order to choose water filters for well water, you should perform water tests to determine: water hardness, nitrates, nitrites, pH (hydrogen ion concentration), permanganate index (if the water has a specific color).

Centrally supplied water

Depending on the supplier, you can often find the results of centrally supplied water tests on the water supplier’s website. Water tests for centrally supplied water are carried out regularly and published publicly. Water testing for centralized water should only be performed if you want to install water filters and do not have the results of water quality tests for the water supplied to you.

Bore-well water

Once a water well has been installed, it is mandatory to have the water tested. You should obtain these tests from the company that installed the water well. The main chemical elements that need to be tested are: water hardness, iron, manganese, pH (hydrogen ion concentration), nitrates, and nitrites. If the water quality is very poor, additional testing for ammonium, arsenic, and permanganate should be performed. If you do not have water tests and want to install water filters, we recommend that you first perform water tests to determine the quality of the water.

As we can see, along with water testing, it is very important to pay attention to the source of the water and the requirements for water quality. Water filtration is often a very individual matter, which depends both on water testing and customer needs.
Please contact us if you would like to have your water quality tested. You can also contact us if you have already had your water tested and would like advice on the quality of your water.
